How Much Does a Hair Transplant Cost in 2026?

Most full sessions at our Tampa clinic are 4,000–4,500 grafts. At our regular rate of $2.50 per graft that is $10,000–$11,250; with the current $1.50-per-graft special on large sessions it is $6,000–$6,750. A 1,000-graft session is $2,500 and our minimum for larger work is $4,000. Local anesthesia, the meal on the day of surgery, your recovery kit and a follow-up program of up to five years are always included. Financing from $175/month.

Hair Transplant Prices by Graft Count

Our regular rate is $2.50 per graft. Right now, large sessions run on a limited-time special of $1.50 per graft. Both prices are in the table so nobody mistakes the special for the regular rate. The special applies to treatments over $4,000, which is our clinic minimum for full sessions.

Hair Transplant Cost by State

We looked for a published price per graft for every state and it does not exist: not at the ISHRS, not at RealSelf, not at GoodRx. The closest thing is a 2026 survey of the average cost of an FUE procedure across the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Read it as a ranking of where transplants cost more or less, not as a quote. The survey does not say how many grafts each procedure included; the best reference is the ISHRS census, where the average FUE case is 2,262 grafts, about half of the 4,000–4,500-graft sessions we do most. Our own prices are in the table above.

Average cost per FUE procedure, not per graft. Source 1 is a survey commissioned by a patient-financing company; it does not publish its sample size, the graft counts behind each average, or what each price included. The graft column is the same reference in every row: the ISHRS 2025 census average of 2,262 grafts per FUE case (members worldwide, 2024 data), shown so the price can be read against a quantity. No source publishes graft counts by state, and these averages describe a procedure roughly half the size of our typical full session. Per-graft figures published by individual clinics are usually “as low as” floors or dated specials, so we did not turn them into a state table. What our price includes is listed below.

What a Typical Plan Costs, by Stage

The stages we plan by, with the price at our two rates. Your own number, and with it your price, is set at the consultation.

Norwood VIIOnly the horseshoe of donor hair remains

For receding temples we usually plan 2,500 to 3,000 grafts: $4,000 to $4,500 on the current special, $6,250 to $7,500 at the regular rate. The number, and the price, rise with each stage. Our largest single session so far, 5,500 grafts, is $8,250 on the special.

Typical plans at the clinic, not a rule: donor density, hair caliber and your goals move the number. Every price here is published, and you get your count, your price and what it includes in writing at the consultation.

Up to Five Years at Your Side

We do not do the transplant and wave goodbye. The price includes a follow-up program of up to five years: the same team follows your growth, adjusts what needs adjusting and answers the phone, from the first wash to the settled result.

Treatment room at Hair Transplant Design in Tampa where follow-up visits take place
  • Scheduled check-ins. We look at your scalp at each stage of growth, not only in the first weeks.
  • Photo tracking. The same angles, the same light, so progress is measured instead of guessed.
  • The rest of your hair. We watch the hair around the transplant too, and tell you what we see, even when the answer is that it needs nothing.
  • A number that answers. Any concern, at any point in the program, gets a real reply from the clinic.

The program is part of every transplant price on this page, whichever session size you choose.

Cost Questions, Answered

How much does a hair transplant cost per graft?

Our regular rate is $2.50 per graft, and large sessions currently run on a limited-time special of $1.50 per graft. In practice: a 1,000-graft session is $2,500, our minimum for larger sessions is $4,000, and most full sessions are 4,000 to 4,500 grafts, which is $10,000 to $11,250 at the regular rate and $6,000 to $6,750 on the special.

Does insurance cover a hair transplant?

No. Hair transplants are cosmetic procedures, so health insurance does not cover them. That is exactly why we work with four financing partners, with plans from $175 per month.

Is a cheap hair transplant abroad worth the risk?

The package price rarely tells the whole story: flights, hotels, time off, no local aftercare, and a full second trip if anything needs revision. In a U.S. clinic you are covered by state regulation and your follow-up program of up to five years is part of the price.

How many grafts do I need?

Hairlines usually need 800–1,500 grafts, the front and mid-scalp 1,500–3,000, and crowns 800–1,800. Your exact number is confirmed free at your consultation, and with it, your exact price.

Are there hidden costs?

No. Anesthesia, the procedure itself, the meal on the day of surgery, your recovery kit and a follow-up program of up to five years are in the quoted price, and your written quote lists exactly what yours covers.
